Long INTC at $105.45 · base target $120 (+14%) · downside / upside case −37% / +52%. As of the July 21, 2026 close, ahead of the July 23 print.
- The bar. Consensus of $14.7B and $0.22 sat at the top of the guided range, and the two-session rally meant part of a beat was already priced in.
- The engine. DCAI operating income was up 168% in five quarters, with margins tripling to 30.5%. TSMC had just reported HPC up 20% quarter on quarter and raised its full-year outlook.
- The tape. Even after the rally, shares sat 26% below the May high, and implied volatility on September options was at the 100th percentile.
- Exit triggers at the print. We exit if the Q3 guide is under $15.0B, if gross margin is guided under 39% with ramp costs bleeding into 2027, if DCAI comes in under $5.3B, or if there is nothing substantive on TPU or 14A.
Our follow-up after the print and the equity offering is Intel: the post-offering drawdown is an entry point.
